There are two well-tried methods, though the only work on the PC version of The Outer Worlds. Unfortunately, you can’t change FOV on consoles yet.
Method 1: Change Game Settings
This first method can be used by simply adjusting the FOV in the game settings menu.
Here’s what you need to do to be able to change the field of view:
Go to Main Menu Select Settings Go to Gameplay tab Search for the FOV slider on the very bottom Move the slider to adjust your FOV
This default method works well, but it also has its limits.
Method 2: Edit System File
You could go well beyond the default FOV limits set in the game’s system files if you want to tweak a few things yourself. So, if you’re playing The Outer Worlds on PC, you could try the following procedure:
Go to “%LOCALAPPDATA%\Indiana\Saved\Config\WindowsNoEditor" folder Open GameUserSettings. ini file Add the following line to it: AspectRatioAxisConstraint=AspectRatio_MaintainYFOV Save and close Start the game Go to FOV settings menu Set the slider below 180.
The added line switches the hotizontal FOV to vertical, which means that your FOV will have a higher value than before.
If you try to increase the FOV even further, the game will become unplayable, so don’t go over the recommended setting.
